It's Bella's birthday today -- she's 3 months old! (Technically, the litter is listed as having been born on November 25th, 2010 because some pups were born before midnight on the 24th and others were born after midnight on the 25th. However, Bella was the first pup born at around 10:30pm on the 24th, so we'll be recognizing her birthday one day earlier than her registration papers say.)
We celebrate with some new pictures.
Mountain-climbing puppy (we just got dumped on with a ton of snow)
A favorite pasttime -- chewing on the cat toys (or the cats, which ever is closest).
"Yeah! I LOVE the snow!!"
Spring must be just around the corner . . . do I see a hint of (can it be?) . . . sunshine?

And we come to the end of another L-O-N-G day for the Bella Pup.
Good night sweet Belles.

Bella the puppy and her bed
Check out this video of Bella playing with her bed, which when turned over looks just like a mushroom cap.
A bit of background on the video: Bella was busy playing with her bed while the girls were in the kitchen loading the dishwasher. I was eating cereal and started laughing with a big bite in my mouth and darn near spit it all over the place. The girls couldn't figure out why I was laughing so hard. After I called them to the living room, I decided to try to get Bella's antics on video, so I turned on myiPhone . The rest follows . . .
Most of the laughing is Lauren (though if you listen closely, you can also hear laughter coming from Elliot, our parrot).

Valentine's Day Pictures
Happy Valentines Day! We celebrate with more pics of . . . who else? Bella! We just LOVE her.
Can you tell she's tired?
More tired pup . . .
"Gee, these pillows sure are big for my head!"
This is the cutest one -- Bella was actually watching the Westminster Dog Show tonight; but not just at anytime. She tuned in on the Belgian Malinois when it appeared on the screen. Every time I rewound the DVR player to the part where the Malinois appeared, she focused right on it. Go figure.

Growing Pup
Our new puppy, Bella, is growing up quickly. She is a wonderful addition to our family -- so sweet, smart and fun. We are continually amazed at how intelligent she is. We love to watch her analyze and process new things.
Potty training this puppy has been so simple. It seems incredible, but after she had been with us only three days she was already going to the door to be let out. While she still wasn't fully reliable at that stage, it didn't take long for her to get the idea behind house training. After a week and a half she consistently began going to the door to go outside. Now, at 11 weeks old and after having been with our family for two and half short weeks, she is fully house broken.
You can see why this puppy is so easy to love.
Bella is SO intelligent -- you can really see it in her eyes. She loves to watch things calmly from a distance. She's always mentally processing everything she sees.
Bella caught in mid-wink. She was actually preparing to bolt out of Emma's arms. A fraction of a second after the picture was taken she escaped Emma's grasp.
